Regular cleanups on the beaches we launch from, above and below the waterline — because every dive starts on the sand, and the sand is where the trash starts too.
Why we exist
One coast. Thousands of divers. One team.
From the leap off the stairs at Casino Point to a Saturday shore entry at Vets Park, Los Angeles divers all share the same water — but we mostly dive in small, separate circles. Shops, clubs, buddy pairs, solo regulars who nod at each other in the parking lot.
LA Dive Team exists to make one community out of many: divers who show up for each other, for the ocean, and for the next generation getting in the water. We want LA to dive more — and to dive like it matters.

Programs
What we do between surface intervals
Six ways in. Come for any of them — you'll end up at the others anyway.
Community dives
Recreational dives for every level, from first ocean dive to hundredth night dive. Show up solo; leave with a buddy list.
Diving for youth
Bringing the underwater world to underprivileged LA kids — pool sessions, snorkel days, and pathways to certification for young people who'd never otherwise get the chance.
Citizen science
Divers are the ocean's field researchers. We collect survey data on our dives and put it in the hands of the conservation groups fighting for this coast.
Marine life advocacy
Spreading the word on endangered locals — white abalone, giant sea bass — and what it actually takes to bring them back to our reefs.
Social events
Post-dive breakfasts, gear swaps, film nights, bonfires. The community half of "dive community" — where dive buddies become actual friends.

Dive with us
Join the mailing list and come to the first cleanup, dive day, or social. Every certification level welcome — and so are snorkelers and not-yet-divers.
Volunteer
Instructors, divemasters, organizers, photographers, people who own folding tables. A new nonprofit runs on exactly these people.
